The HistoryFounded in early 2016 in order to work as a contracted sole trader. Once established the business became a major focal point of my career, with projects and contracts all being redirected to and completed under the name "Dracon Interactive".
I worked in the indie games sector for a number of years, completing small VR contracts, and teaching game development K-12. In 2018 I started work for St John WA, as Lead Game Developer. I worked there for 3 years on a First Aid VR project that taught me amazing things, in both practical and management areas. In early 2021, I started a short-lived but enjoyable contract with Zarmada Inc, working on a VR law enforcement training tool. Six months later this project was finished and I moved to working with Goleman Virtual. Goleman Virtual was revamped into Cortiical Ltd, and I was promoted to Head of Development! This role gave me a new perspective on establishing tech stacks in a company attempting rapid expansion. This involved hiring a team, and consistently turning around multiple proof of concept prototypes for sales and marketing. Following my work at Coortical, I moved to Altered State Machine. This company was attempting to make AI training and use more approachable and transparent. In this role I worked on my first major IP: FIFA! We made a football game named FIFA: AI League where the players were driven by pre-trained ML brains of different configurations. In late 2023, ASM became FV, or FutureVerse. This involved a merger of a large group of related ventures, and significantly altered the course of my work! While I remained a key resource on AI League, I have also begun working on various tooling systems. |
The Team - Me!
Peter Carey
Australian born and bred, I grew up in a rural town in the south of Australia. I nurtured my passion for gaming from a young age, and once graduating high school, I embarked on a Bachelor of Games Design. I then graduated this in late 2016. I started a Master of Creative Industries in 2018, graduating late 2023. I look forward to the challenges ahead, as with new challenges comes new cool tools for me to play with, and new technologies to learn and master. I am at my most comfortable playing with a new stack, or obsessing over a new project :) |
